IWMI's research operates at regional, national and local levels, concentrating on work that has the potential for wide application. Research is coordinated through regional offices located in India, Pakistan, South Africa and Thailand. The Institute has staff posted in China, Nepal, Ghana, Ethiopia and Uzbekistan. Research projects are in progress in some 20 countries, across Asia and Africa.
