Attracting Women Researchers from Developing Countries
It is a fact of life that women have contributed more to economic development than science or technology. IWMI continues to expand its efforts to increase gender balance in a previously male- heavy system by targeting recruitments for female researchers from developing countries. To this end we are also currently training female staff for management positions through the development of leadership and management skills. Currently, 30 % of IWMI’s female staff
hold management positions and the percentage of women in leadership positions on the Board is 61%. Our personnel policies are also being redesigned with future targets in mind.
