Knowledge Center Initiative

Progress

During this reporting period progress slowed down due to staff changes and limited time availability of key players. This should be resolved once the Core Team is fully operational. The Knowledge Fair, immediately after the Board meeting last November, was very successful. Lessons learnt of this event have been captured and a similar event will be planned for later this year. Further presentation of the KCI approach to other offices took place in January. Core Team members have now been identified and kick-off meeting of the Core Team is planned for later this month. As detailed in the previous update, the Core Team will play a role of catalyst and promoting synthesis and synergies.

IWMI activities in relation to the tsunami provided an opportunity to liaise closer with NGOs and understand how some of our work can directly impact work on the ground. We need to capitalize on these lessons.
