| Knowledge Sharing at IWMI
IWMI’s Knowledge Sharing Initiative between 2001 and 2003 focused on building an internal structure and promoted thinking at IWMI on knowledge sharing and management approaches. This initiative resulted in the creation of IWMI’s Information and Knowledge Group (IKG). It brings together science publishing, marketing communication, ICT, web team and library – to provide a common set of services focused at improving the organization of information and access to IWMI’s research. The approach chosen is to create a cross-institute coordination and synthesis effort that creates an inventory of all activities in IWMI needed to put the knowledge roles defined by the Strategic Plan 2004 – 2008 into action: Knowledge Generation (KG), Knowledge Sharing (KS), Knowledge Brokerage (KB) and Knowledge Application (KA).
